By keeping these settings up to date, you ensure that Helm accurately reflects your physical processes - from inventory handling to pick, pack and despatch workflows

My Warehouse Dashboard
In My Warehouse you can edit and manage the details of your primary warehouse facility - fine‑tuning its identity, operational parameters and fulfilment logic to suit your business

Warehouse Modes
Choose the mode that best reflects your operational style
Basic Mode
Streamlined stock tracking with direct dispatch workflows
Full Mode
Has all the basic features and advanced functionality with multi-location pick-and-pack processes, zone management and detailed stock visibility
When operating in Full Warehousing Mode, the My Warehouse dashboard provides a clear overview of your warehouse’s performance, capacity, and configuration
This view helps you quickly assess space usage, stock distribution, and system settings that directly affect your workflows

Warehouse Information
Name
Assign a clear and recognisable name for this warehouse location
Choose something meaningful that reflects its role within your network (for example, Main Distribution Centre, London Hub, or Returns Depot)
This name will appear across Helm when allocating stock, routing orders, or reviewing reports, so clarity is key
Avoid vague names like “Warehouse 1” if you operate multiple facilities, as this can cause confusion when scaling operations
Location Structure
Decide how you would like to define the structure of this warehouse
Location only
Use this option if you want to manage stock at a single-site level without breaking it down into smaller areas. Suitable for simpler operations or where stock is stored in open, non-segmented spaces
Location and Zone
Use this option if your warehouse is divided into functional zones (for example, Cold Storage, Fragile Goods, or High-Rotation Aisles). This gives greater control for pick routing, replenishment strategies and detailed reporting
Choosing the right structure ensures Helm mirrors the way your physical warehouse is organised, making processes intuitive for your team
Description
Provide a concise but informative summary of this warehouse’s purpose, capabilities or unique functions
Highlight any special storage conditions or operational features (for example, High-ceiling racked storage with pick-to-light technology or Dedicated bulk goods facility for pallet storage)
Include capacity notes if relevant (for example, 5,000 sq ft with temperature-controlled areas)
This description helps distinguish sites at a glance when managing multiple warehouses in Helm and is particularly useful for onboarding new staff

Stock Control
Determine how Helm monitors and reports inventory
Available Stock Levels
Displays the percentage of committed versus on-hand stock, providing real-time insight into replenishment and capacity requirements

Address
Add or update the physical address of your warehouse
Enter the full street address (or search existing entries) to ensure accurate mapping for carrier pickups, route optimisation and geofencing features

Location Information
Define how Helm routes stock and orders within your warehouse
Default Picked Location
The area where picked items are staged before packingDefault Delivery Location

Location Settings

Remove Empty Stock Locations – Auto-Archive
Enable this option to automatically remove a location from active inventory once all stock has been depleted
This ensures your inventory view stays clean and uncluttered, displaying only locations that currently hold stock
Archived locations are not deleted, they remain in Helm for historical reference and can be reactivated if stock is later assigned to them
Useful for warehouses with a high turnover of dynamic or temporary storage areas, where locations frequently open and close depending on stock flow

Auto-Archive
The Auto-Archive settings allow you to control how long completed jobs remain visible in your warehouse dashboard before being automatically archived. Archiving keeps your workspace clear and focused on current activity, while still preserving full records for future reference
You can toggle each job type on or off, and choose the time frame that best suits your operational needs

Picks
Decide when completed pick jobs should automatically archive
Options include: Midnight (same day), 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year
Delivery
Manage the archive schedule for completed delivery jobs
Options include: Midnight (same day), 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year
Movement
Control how long movement jobs remain active before being archived
Options include: Midnight (same day), 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year
Best Practice
Use shorter timeframes (Midnight or 3 days) for high-volume warehouses where job lists can quickly become cluttered
Use longer timeframes (1 month or 1 year) if you regularly need to review completed jobs before they are archived
Remember: archiving does not delete records — all jobs remain accessible in Helm’s history and reporting modules

Empty Locations
Displays the percentage of warehouse locations that are currently empty
Helps you identify available storage capacity and plan replenishments or inbound deliveries more effectively
Example: 46.2% indicates that nearly half of all configured locations are free for use
Locations
Shows the total number of active locations configured in your warehouse
Example: 13 active locations currently set up and tracked in Helm

Warehouse Address
Displays the registered address of the warehouse for carrier collections, routing, and reporting
The Warehouse Address section ensures your facility is correctly registered within Helm for carrier collections, routing, and reporting. Keeping this information accurate is essential for successful despatch workflows and integration with couriers
When editing your warehouse address, you can enter the following details
Email
The primary contact email associated with the warehouse, used for notifications and carrier communicationFirst Name / Last Name

A direct contact number for the warehouse, ensuring carriers or support teams can reach the site quickly if neededCompany Name

Fine-tune how the Helm Warehouse App interacts with your facility by toggling the following options
Include Movements
Enable this to allow stock movements to be processed and tracked via the Warehouse AppInclude Picks
