How to get your credentials

Log in to your BigCommerce account and find all your credentials or speak to your account manager:

Step-by-Step Setup in Helm

From your Helm dashboard,

  1. Go to Settings > My Store

  2. Click Add New Sales Channel

  3. Select the BigCommerce channel from the list

  4. Enter BigCommerce and click Install

  5. Provide a label such as My Store BigCommerce

  6. Upload a logo for your store (optional)

  7. Complete the required general setup:

  1. Configure the Interaction Settings of how orders and stock behave between BigCommerce and Helm:

Use Channel Names

Display product name from BigCommerce on Helm orders

Max Stock Levels

Cap the quantity sent to BigCommerce (e.g. for eBay or sales limits)

Stock Buffer

Reserve a quantity to avoid overselling (e.g. set to 2 to always hold back 2 units)

Auto Merge Orders

Combine multiple orders from the same customer or store into one fulfilment

Order Statuses to Download

Only import orders with selected statuses (e.g. Awaiting Fulfilment, Paid)

Define which statuses are included

Order Importing Type

Specify from which point in time new orders should begin importing

  1. Click Save

  2. Once saved, your BigCommerce channel is ready and syncing via Helm

  3. OR

  4. Testing and Activation

  5. After entering all settings, click Save

  6. Use Connect to authenticate with BigCommerce

  7. Or copy the Connect Link and send it to the person responsible for integration

  8. Once connected, orders and stock will begin syncing automatically according to the configured rules

  9. You are now ready to Take the Helm

Double-check the Client ID, Secret, Store Hash, and Access Token

Token or Scope Errors

Ensure all necessary API scopes are granted during app registration

Missing Orders

Verify order statuses and import dates are correctly configured

Stock not syncing

Check if Sync Stock Levels and Inventory settings are enabled
