Order Mastery

Order mastery in Helm encompasses the intelligent handling of awkward or exceptional order scenarios — such as pausing orders On Hold, managing Resend shipments after returns - giving you refined control over both your operational workflow & your stock

On Hold & Resend

In Helm, there are a few concepts that help you manage tricky orders and accurately measure how products behave when they are packed together

On Hold

Sometimes an order needs to be paused while you resolve an issue, such as confirming payment, checking stock, or waiting for a customer reply. Putting an order On Hold temporarily removes it from normal processing so it is not accidentally picked and despatched while you investigate

While an order is On Hold, your team can still view it, add notes and make updates, but it will not move forward in the workflow until the hold is removed

This helps prevent errors, duplicate shipments and unnecessary warehouse activity

Resend (after a product was returned)

If a customer returns an item and you need to send a replacement, the Resend function allows you to create and manage that follow-up shipment in a controlled way

A Resend is linked back to the original order so your team can see the full history — what was originally sent, what was returned, and what is being sent again

Using Resend rather than creating a brand‑new order helps you keep your reporting clean, understand the true cost of returns and replacements, and maintain a clear audit trail for customer care

By combining On Hold and Resend, Helm gives you better control over both your operational workflow and the physical reality of how your products are stored, packed and shipped
