Basic Mode at a Glance
What changes in Helm WMS when your warehouse runs in Basic mode, how to check or change your mode, and where to read about each difference.
What Basic Mode Is
Basic mode is for warehouses that want to track products and sync stock across their sales channels without managing locations or picking. Each product has one stock figure, deliveries add to it, and orders are despatched straight from the order page. Full mode adds pick management and tracking of products within specific warehouse locations.
Example scenario: a small brand ships from one stockroom. In Basic mode they set each product's stock once, receive deliveries straight onto it and despatch each order from its own page, with no locations or picks to set up.
The articles in this collection only cover what is different in Basic mode. For everything else, use the main articles.
Checking & Changing Your Mode
Go to Settings and, under Company Settings, click Warehouse.
The Warehouse Mode panel shows Basic or Full. To change it, click the pencil icon to open Change Warehouse Mode.
Choose Basic or Full and click Change.
Changing the mode changes which screens and menus your team sees, so agree it with whoever runs the warehouse before you switch.

The main menu shows Dashboard, Orders, Inventory, Customers, Processing, Shipping, Purchasing, Reporting, Apps and Settings.
What each person sees also depends on their permission group. The Settings page lists the same options in both modes.
