Despatching Orders in Basic Mode
How orders are despatched in Helm WMS when your warehouse runs in Basic mode, straight from the order page without picking.
How Orders Leave the Warehouse in Basic Mode
Basic mode has no picking screens, so an order goes from New Order to a shipment straight from the order page. You open the order, click Despatch Order, choose the parcels and courier service, and create the shipment.
Example scenario: a customer orders two candles. The packer opens the order, clicks Despatch Order, checks both candles are in parcel one, chooses the courier service and clicks Create Shipment.
Before You Start
The order needs a shipping address. Despatch Order becomes available once the order has one. Add it under Address Details on the order.
You need a courier installed. The courier service is chosen on the despatch screen, so set up at least one courier in Settings > Despatch Settings > Couriers first.
How to Despatch an Order in Basic Mode
Go to Orders and open the order.
Click Despatch Order.
Check the Shipping Address. You can correct it here, or click Add Company Name if it needs one.
Under Parcels, enter each parcel's weight and dimensions. Drag items between parcels if the order ships in more than one.
Under Courier Services, type and choose the service to ship with.
Click Create Shipment.

From here, shipments are handled the same way in both modes. See Single Shipment and Shipments & Shipment History.
What Full Mode Adds to Despatch
Full mode adds picking before despatch: Pick Management, Pick Routines, Pick Totes and Sort Wall Management under Processing. See Pick Management.
If an order will not despatch, contact support with the order number and the team can check it.
