Warehouse Settings in Basic Mode
What the warehouse settings page shows in Helm WMS when your warehouse runs in Basic mode, including the Stock Control panel.
What Changes on the Warehouse Page
In Basic mode, Helm keeps one stock figure per product rather than tracking it by location, so the warehouse page only holds what that needs: the warehouse's name and address, its mode, and a Stock Control panel in place of the location panels.
To open it, go to Settings and, under Company Settings, click Warehouse.

Reading the Page in Basic Mode
The Stock Control Panel
Enabled: the switch at the top of the panel turns stock control on or off for the whole warehouse. Switching it off deletes your stock levels; see Switching Stock Control Off & On below.
Available Stock Levels: a percentage bar for the quantities of items in inventory that are ready for sale or fulfilment, excluding allocated stock. For example, 59 available out of 60 in stock shows as 98.3%.
Go To Inventory List: opens your Inventory list, where each product's stock is managed. See Products & Stock in Basic Mode.
Allow Barcode Reuse, under Barcode Settings, works the same in both modes: when it is on, the same barcode can be assigned to more than one product.
Switching Stock Control Off & On
With stock control off, Helm stops tracking stock for the warehouse. Every product shows ∞ for Physical and Available, the product's Stock Control section for editing stock disappears, and Available Stock Levels shows a dash. On a product, Channel Linking shows a Heads Up that some settings are not enabled for your stock control type, and the product's own Stock Control switch cannot be turned on until warehouse stock control is back on.
Switching stock control off permanently deletes all current stock levels for the warehouse. They cannot be restored, so only do this if you no longer want Helm to track stock.
Turning Stock Control Off
Click the Enabled switch in the Stock Control panel.
Read the Disable Stock Control? warning and click Confirm.
Turning Stock Control Back On
Click the Disabled switch in the Stock Control panel to open Enable Stock Control?.
Choose an Initial stock level method:
Set all stock to a specific number: enter a Stock level, then choose Set as flat level to give every product that number, or Set as quantity above open orders to give each product that number plus what is already on open orders.
Import from CSV file: upload a CSV with two columns, Item Code and Quantity. Click Download Template CSV for a ready-made file.
Pull from Sales Channel: choose the Source Channel to take stock levels from.
Click Confirm.
Helm runs the change in the background and lets you know when it has finished. Until then, you can cancel it from the message that appears.
Example: a product has one unit on an open order. Turning stock control back on with a Stock level of 0 and Set as quantity above open orders gives it a physical stock of one, so the open order can still be fulfilled.
Check every product's stock afterwards. Helm asks you to make sure stock levels are set correctly for all products, to prevent overselling or underselling.
What Full Mode Adds to This Page
If you switch to Full mode, the page gains the settings that locations need:
Location Structure in Warehouse Information, plus Location Information and Auto-Archive sections.
An Empty Locations and Locations panel with Go To Location List, in place of Stock Control.
Warehouse App Settings, Serial Validation and Batch Settings.
For how locations work in Full mode, see Mastering Stock Locations in Helm.
If something on your warehouse page does not match this article, contact support with your warehouse name and the team can check its settings.
