All System Settings
System Settings in Helm WMS holds the behind-the-scenes setup: your emails and paperwork, connections to other systems, the lists your team picks from, and the logs that show what has happened. This page explains what each part does and links to its full guide.
What System Settings Covers
System Settings is the third group on the Settings page. Company Settings describes your business and Despatch Settings decides how orders leave; System Settings holds everything else Helm needs to run smoothly in the background.
That includes the emails and paperwork Helm produces, its connections to your other systems, the lists your team chooses from every day, and the logs you check when something has not gone as expected. Most of it is set once and revisited only when your business changes.
Example: a customer says their despatch email never arrived. A team leader checks the email's design in Email Template Settings, confirms the address it sends from in Mail Account Settings, and, if the order never booked, looks for the failed attempt in Courier Logs.
Before You Start
Where to find it: go to Settings and scroll to the System Settings group, below Company Settings and Despatch Settings.
Search instead of scrolling: the search box at the top of the Settings page finds any tile by name.
Logs are records, not settings: the log tiles show what has happened. Nothing you open there changes how Helm works.

Where to Start
System Settings is not something you work through in order. Start from the job in front of you:
Send emails from your own address: connect your provider in Mail Account Settings, design the email in Email Template Settings, then link both in a customer notification.
Put your brand on your paperwork: duplicate a ready-made template in Print Template Settings and edit the copy.
Sell through a new channel: once the channel is connected, match its listings to your products in Inventory Linking.
Find out why something went wrong: start with the log closest to the problem: Courier Logs for labels, Channel Logs for orders and stock on a channel, User Logs for who changed what.
Note: stock changes on a single product are recorded on that product rather than in System Settings. Stock Logs explains where to find them.
Best Practices & Notes
Change One Thing at a Time
Many System Settings pages affect every order or every email. Make one change, check the result on a real order, then move on to the next.
Check the Logs Before Contacting Support
The logs usually show the exact reason something failed, such as a courier rejecting an address. Having that message to hand makes any support conversation much quicker.
Keep Lists Tidy
Custom fields, job reasons and order folders build up over time. Review them once or twice a year so your team only chooses from options that are still in use.

Do I need to set up every page here?
No. Helm works without most of them. Set up a page when you need what it does, such as your own mail account or a webhook to another system.
