Store Settings

Your store page in Helm WMS holds everything that belongs to one store: the sales channels it sells through, its backorder behaviour, the notifications its customers receive, and the name, logo, contact details and addresses that appear on labels, emails and documents.

What the Store Page Does

Every store in Helm has its own page. It is where you connect the sales channels that store sells through, decide how it handles orders you cannot fully ship yet, check which customer notifications it sends, and set the identity your customers see: the store name, logo, contact details and the addresses printed on labels and returns paperwork.

If you run more than one brand or shop from the same warehouse, each one gets its own store, so each can carry its own branding, channels and addresses.

Example: you sell T-shirts under the brand NineTees through Shopify and TikTok Shop. The NineTees store page holds both channel connections, the NineTees logo that prints on your packing slips, and the returns address customers send parcels back to.

Before You Start

  • Finding your store: go to Settings > Company Settings. Your store appears as a card named after it, for example X Store. If you have several stores, there is one card per store.

  • Sales channel credentials: to connect a marketplace or eCommerce platform, have your login or API details for that platform to hand.

Note: until you fill in a store's own details, Helm uses your company details. Until you add a sender or return address, Helm uses your warehouse address. Nothing breaks if these are empty, but your customers will see the company and warehouse information instead of the store's.

Creating a New Store

  1. Go to Settings > Company Settings.

  2. Click Add New Store.

  3. Enter a Store Name and click Create Store.

  4. Open the new store's card to add its sales channels and details.

Setting Up Your Store Identity

The Store panel on the right of the page holds the details your customers see.

Store Info

  1. Click the pencil icon next to Store Info.

  2. In the Edit Store window, set:

    • Store Name: the name of the store as it appears in Helm.

    • Store URL: your shop's web address. Helm validates the domain once you enter it, then updates the Store Name automatically.

    • Change Photo: the store logo. Recommended size: 500 x 500px.

    • Brand Image: a wider banner that appears at the top of relevant emails and print templates. Recommended size: 1000 x 100px.

  3. Click Save Changes.

Store Details

These are the contact and company details for this store. While this section is empty, the page shows Store details missing and Helm uses your company details instead.

  1. Click + next to Store Details.

  2. Fill in the Edit Store Details window:

    • Contact First Name and Contact Last Name

    • Email and Phone Number

    • Company Name and Company Number

    • Tax ID: the business's official tax registration number in its country, such as a VAT number.

    • IOSS and EORI: needed if this store ships internationally and you handle customs under these schemes.

  3. Click Save Changes.

Addresses

Each store can hold three addresses:

Address

What it is used for

If left empty

Store Address

The store's own address

Uses your warehouse address

Sender Address

The "from" address on shipping labels

Uses your warehouse address

Return Address

Where customers send returned parcels

Uses your warehouse address

To add an address:

  1. Click + next to Address.

  2. At the top of the Add Address window, tick which addresses this is: Store, Sender, Return, or any combination. If the store and returns address are the same, tick both and enter it once.

  3. Enter the Company name, Address line 1, Country, City and Postcode. Address line 2 and County are optional.

  4. Click Save Changes.

To change or remove an existing address, click the ... button on it and choose Edit Address or Delete Address.

Heads up: if you tick an address type that already has an address saved, Helm shows a Heads Up message. Saving will replace the existing address with the new one.

Managing Sales Channels

The Sales Channels panel lists every channel this store sells through, with a row per channel:

Column

What it shows

Sales Channel

The channel's name

Relink In

Linked if the connection is working, or a Link button if it needs reconnecting

Region

The marketplace region, where the channel has one

Sync Stock

When ticked, Helm keeps the stock levels on the channel in line with your stock in Helm

Import

When ticked, Helm imports products from the channel

Status

Active, Inactive or Manual

Adding a Channel

  1. Click + at the top of the Sales Channels panel.

  2. In Add Sales Channel, search for or pick your platform (for example Shopify, eBay, Amazon, TikTok Shop or a manual channel).

  3. Click Continue and follow the connection steps for that platform.

For the full walkthrough, see Setting up a Sales Channel, and the integration guide for your platform in Partners Documentation.

Working With an Existing Channel

Click the ... button in a channel's Actions column:

  • Edit: opens the channel's connection settings, such as its name, logo, and default location.

  • Force Stock Sync: pushes your current Helm stock levels to the channel straight away, rather than waiting for the next scheduled sync.

  • Refetch Products: pulls the channel's products into Helm again, so they are available to match up in Settings > System Settings > Inventory Linking.

  • Delete: removes the channel from this store.

Note: Force Stock Sync and Refetch Products appear on connected channels only. Inactive and manual channels show Edit and Delete.

Tip: if a channel shows a Link button under Relink In, the connection has dropped. Click Link to reconnect it.

Backorder Automation

Expand Backorder Automation to control how this store handles orders you cannot ship in full.

  • Automatic Backorder: when stock is replenished, backordered items move to New Order status on their own, so they enter your picking workflow without anyone having to release them.

  • Split Partially Fulfillable Orders: when only some items on an order are in stock, Helm splits the order so the available items can ship now and the rest wait as a backorder.

Switch the toggles on or off and click Save Changes. Clear discards changes you have not saved.

For more on how backorders work, see Allocation, Stock Reservation & Backorders.

Notifications

The Notifications panel lists the customer notifications set up for this store, with their Type (for example Email) and Template (for example Order Despatched).

Note: Notifications are created and edited in Settings > Despatch Settings > Notifications. Click the open icon in the Actions column of any notification to go straight there.

Deleting a Store

Delete Store sits at the bottom of the Store panel.

Warning: deleting a store removes its settings and sales channel connections. Make sure no live channels or open orders still depend on it before you delete.

Best Practices & Notes

Fill in Store Details & Addresses Early

Your company and warehouse details are only a fallback. Setting the store's own sender and return addresses means labels and returns paperwork carry the right brand, which matters most when you run several stores from one warehouse.

Check Relink In Regularly

Marketplace connections can expire. A Link button in the Relink In column is the quickest sign that a channel has stopped syncing orders or stock.

Use Refetch Products After Adding Listings

When you add new products on a channel, use Refetch Products so they appear in Inventory Linking and can be matched to your Helm stock.

FAQ

The store card is named after your store, so it reads [Your store name] Store rather than a fixed label.

Helm uses your warehouse address on labels and returns paperwork until you add one.

Yes. A store can hold as many channels as you need, and each one is managed on its own row.

If each brand needs its own logo, addresses or channels, yes. Create one store per brand with Add New Store.

If you are still stuck, contact Helm Support.
